Getting the “rabbit out of the hat!”

This is how you can make the difference with a simple hack!

Night port fishing is a very common habit for many anglers! When you want to go for a fast fishing session, have your car close and enjoy some casts with the possibility to get a barracuda for dinner, then yes, port is the right place to go! And this is why I was there that evening! Getting a barra for the grill! But unfortunately no barracudas that day!

Probably the storm that occurred the previous days, had affected the packs of barras that did not entered the port that night! So after many casts with Sandeel Jerk Minnows, I decided to make some “desperate” casts with Deep Walker 50gr just to fool myself that I searched all levels of the water! Maybe a barra could lurk down there near the bottom. The depth at that port was approximately 20 meters.

Deep Walker 50 on the clip and cast! First cast nothing, walk a few steps and second cast! Nothing again! Time was late so one more cast and dinner seemed already to be “Souvlaki”! And then, after the first row of jerks, a strong strike bends my rod!  Boom! And that fish was not a barra for sure! After a short but very joyfull fight, a beautiful white grouper completely shook my world! Damn that was awesome! Now I wonder, how many liped lures this grouper had seen in the past. Food for your brain!

White grouper is considered in Greece the most “elegant” grouper.
