We had been trying to locate roaches around 4-6m down. From past experiences, I learned that the bigger fish tend to hang out at this depth in my waters.

The lure I was using, was a homemade fusion between the Savage Gear Mega DaBush and a Savage Gear 40cm Real Eel. I added some extra weight, by clipping on some Savage Gear Balls.

I quickly found some roaches, where I was expecting them. Not long after, the strike came! The strike was heavy, but it must have just come from spawning, since it was very lazy.

I have been chasing for this size of this fish for many years. Back in 2017, I caught a 120cm fish, which just hit the 120cm mark. It did not feel like I really entered the 120cm club, so I had to get a bigger one and this one was 127cm.
