I recently returned from an exhilarating trip to Thailand, where I spent some time topwater fishing using the SG8 baitcaster reel and testing prototypes of new Savage Gear lures.

During the trip, I found that the points of the big water hyacinth islands were the real hot zones for giant snakehead fishing – what a rush! This fishing is incredibly addictive, and every single cast has the potential to turn into complete mayhem within seconds. 

Back home in Denmark, when I think about it, I still don’t know how these fish can move so fast and attack with such precision from great distances. It was as if your brain and eyes didn’t even see the strike, all you could do was react on instinct...
